Cats may make wonderful pets, but they often have ailments that need
to be taken care of, and this is why it is so important that if you are
a cat owner you are aware of the different most common feline health
problems and how to solve them so that you will know what to do if your
cat ever experiences one.
One of the most common feline health problems is something that we
as humans often experience, and that is a cold. Cats are very
susceptible to many different respiratory viruses, and although some of
these infections can become serious, most are really not.
Therefore if your cat does come down with a cold, there is really nothing you have to do but wait it out.
Another common feline health problem is bite wounds, as cats have
sharp teeth and their bites carry bacteria deep into the body,
providing them with an excellent place to grow and multiply. Under the
fur, the bite wounds are almost invisible, and so the first sign of
trouble will probably be when you notice signs of infection such as
lameness or a swollen area.
Yet another of the most common feline health problems has to do with
urinary infections, and Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) is a
common and potentially fatal disease that causes gritty little
sand-like stones to form in the urinary tract of the cat, and the
stones cause great discomfort.
The most causative factors for this seem to be the amount of
magnesium and other minerals in the diet, the acidity of the urine, and
the amount of time that the urine is held in the bladder before
voiding.

with your veterinarian for as soon as possible, so that you can bring
them in and have them examined by a professional.
