Dog owners can treat minor injuries for their pets if they have the

there are several ailments in particular that occur in dogs which
require the use of dog medicines for treatment, one of which is
heartworm disease.
This is a common disease among dogs of all breeds and ages, and
heartworm disease, as the name implies, is caused by a worm called
Dirofilaria immitis. The heartworms are found in the right ventricle of
the heart and the pulmonary arteries, and the female worm may be up to
a foot long, while the male is about half of that size.
A single dog can have dozens of worms, and heartworms can live up to
five years and during this time the females have time to produce
millions of larvae called microfilaria, which live in the bloodstream
and may be concentrated in the spleen.
The most commonly used dog medicines for heartworm disease are
called adulticides, and there are two which need to be used in order to
properly treat the heartworm disease, and the two adulticides that are
most commonly used are actually derivatives of arsenic. It is in fact
not known just how these medications work to kill the heartworms, but
they do work.
