Doctors Without Borders

The term doctors without borders is one which is used quite
frequently in the world today, however surprisingly enough then, not
many people are actually aware of what it means.

Doctors
Without Borders is an independent international medical humanitarian
organization that works by delivering emergency aid to people who are
affected by things such as armed conflict, epidemics, natural or
manmade disasters, and so on.

They are an organization
which was founded in the year 1971 as the first nongovernmental
organization to both provide emergency medical assistance and bear
witness publicly to the plight of the people that it assists.

It
is often one of the very first humanitarian organizations who appears
at the scene of an emergency, and its large-scale logistical capacity
ensures that their emergency teams hit the ground with the specialized
medical kits and equipment that they need in order to be able to start
saving lives immediately.

In emergencies and in their
aftermaths, Doctors Without Borders is there to provide the essential
aftercare, and in this they rehabilitate and run hospitals and clinics,
perform surgeries, battle epidemics, carry out vaccination campaigns,
operate feeding centers for malnourished children, and offer mental
health care.

As well, when needed, Doctors Without Borders
is the organization which treats patients with infectious diseases such
as tuberculosis, sleeping sickness, and HIV/AIDS, and as well they are
there to provide medical and psychological care to marginalized groups
such as street children.

There are many other organizations that
are similar to this, however this one in particular is considered as
being the most effective and most generous, and this goes to say a lot.
The work that they do is truly astounding, and the fact that they help
to save millions of lives around the world goes to prove just how
dedicated and caring of an organization they really are.
